Brahim Benmokrane
Professeur au Département de génie civil de l’Université de Sherbrooke depuis 1992. Chercheur de renommée mondiale dans le développement et l’utilisation des matériaux composites innovants pour la construction. Recherches d’avant-garde ayant mis au point des façons d’utiliser les matériaux composites de fibres de verre et de carbone pour renforcer le béton plutôt que d’utiliser des tiges d’acier classiques, éliminant ainsi la détérioration des infrastructures. Membre de la Société royale du Canada. Invité partout comme conférencier dans des organisations professionnelles et institutions académiques. Siège sur des comités scientifiques et éditoriaux internationaux de premier plan. Considéré chef de file mondial dans le domaine de l'utilisation de barres d’armature en PRF dans les structures en béton. Titulaire d’une Chaire de recherche du CRSNG, d’une Chaire de recherche du Canada de niveau 1 ainsi que directeur du Centre de recherche sur les infrastructures de béton (CRIB).

Depuis les 20 dernières années, j’ai supervisé 38 étudiants à la maîtrise (34 mémoires complétés et 4 en cours), 39 étudiants au doctorat (29 thèses de doctorat Ph.D. complétées et 10 en cours) et 20 chercheurs postdoctoraux (17 complétés et 3 en cours) pour un total de 97.
